Food for thought

If "A man's character may be learned from the adjectives which he habitually uses in conversation"(Mark Twain), then what does that say about our generation: the technology age? Everyday, people are becoming more fluent in the language of "texting". Did you know "LOL", "OMG" and "<3" are now in the oxford English dictionary? I can guarantee that Mark twain would most likely be more than appalled at these additions. How does "<3" even qualify as a word? I'm no Shakespeare, but I find it rather upsetting that nowadays, with so many ways to communicate we seem to be losing the true art of communication! Yes, technology is amazing, I love the innovation, creativity and resources it provides. However, it seems that as society is becoming more "tech savvy" they are losing the art of conversation. So please blog readers, as much as you love your phone take a break! Put the phone down and call your friend instead of sending a text, or better yet...go hang out! I promise you that having a "real" conversation is so much more rewarding. Yes perhaps more inconvenient, but in reality who can say that they wouldn't rather laugh out loud than"LOL" over the phone?
